Joining NIS in 2018, was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. Today when I look back four years, I just realise how I had very little idea of who I really was at that time. NIS has given me a space to find myself; to explore and to know who I truly am. And the best thing about this school is that everybody is respected for their own uniqueness. A school which lives up to its slogan of “Every child is a star.”

In these four years, not only was I discovering myself, but I also saw my peers exploring their passions. We all were unique and had different journeys, but we were also equal and interconnected with each other. Some found themselves in academics, some found themselves in sports; I found myself in arts. My passion for arts was fueled in this school, and I was encouraged to think as creatively as possible. The guidance and support I got in Art and Design from my teachers was beyond exceptional. When I joined school, I was very hesitant to showcase any of my art, but by the end, I was able to speak about my entire portfolio in my exhibition, because I had found that I felt most like myself when I was with art.

The same went for other academic subjects. The teachers made sure to teach the concepts in a way that we would not only just memorize, but also understand. Even after the pandemic hit, the teachers did their best to make us understand and feel comfortable with studies. Although adjusting to the new normal was difficult for the entire school community, the thing that got us through the rough times was our support and empathy for each other.

I will always consider myself blessed to have studied in such an incredible environment, with one of the best school communities. From school trips to annual functions, dance performances, sports days and inter house competitions, every little event has been a spectacular experience. Every moment was a milestone, and everyday I learnt something new about myself. I came into the school as a shy, timid and anxious student, but I am leaving as a balanced and open-minded individual. I won’t say that I am not afraid of uncertainty now; I still am. But what I learnt here was, being scared is okay. It means we’re going outside our comfort zone. What is important is to take that new adventure, and give your best to every opportunity you get. Sometimes you will amaze yourself.

My school life at NIS (National International School) in Mumbai has been an enriching journey filled with memorable experiences and valuable lessons. It all began when I moved to Mumbai in the 8th grade, feeling both excited and nervous about starting anew. However, the warm welcome I received from the NIS community quickly eased my transition, making me feel right at home.

One of the highlights of my time at NIS was the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. This phase of my education was academically rigorous and incredibly insightful. The IB curriculum taught me valuable skills such as time management, critical thinking, and the importance of self-care. Learning to strike a balance between academics, extracurricular activities, and personal well-being has been instrumental in shaping my approach to life beyond school.

During my IGCSE years, the Andaman trip stands out as a beautiful and unforgettable experience. Exploring the beaches with my classmates created lasting memories and strengthened bonds within our school community.

One of the most fulfilling roles I undertook during my IB years was serving as the Community Welfare Captain. This position allowed me to undertake various projects aimed at making a positive impact within our school and local community. Interacting with juniors and leading initiatives that promoted social welfare was not only rewarding but also aligned with my passion for making a difference.

Throughout my journey at NIS, my teachers have been my constant source of motivation and support. Their guidance, encouragement, and belief in my potential have helped me navigate through both the ups and downs of school life, fostering personal and academic growth along the way.

As I reflect on my time at NIS, I am filled with gratitude for the countless learning opportunities and meaningful relationships that have enriched my school experience. NIS has not only equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to excel academically but has also instilled in me values of compassion, resilience, and community service that will continue to guide me in the years to come.

At NIS, I entered an uncharted world and graduated from home. From opting to pursue a new curriculum without knowing its intricacies, to being able to proudly call myself an IB alumni - I have walked a long road of academic and holistic development.

My journey of 2 years at NIS was undoubtedly filled with challenges posed by both a foreign curriculum and the prevalence of a pandemic. I remember making a reference to the tumultuous times as "having studied through two eras" in my graduation speech. Even with my own yearning to have spent more time offline - in the classroom and corridors, looking back I am still fascinated by the close bonds we knit then and continue to share till date.

At Nahar, a fledgling like me navigated my way comfortably, catching up to the course and with time, responding to the questions with an exact comprehension of what was expected in the answer sheet. All this was only possible because of my teachers - it was their trust in me that drove me to do better each time. I was also blessed with mentors in the form of my IB Programme Coordinator and also, my University Councilor. Their encouragement and direction has been significant in shaping me.

In all, NIS has now become an abode I look forward to returning over and over, to find pieces of myself and the warmth of my kindred that I left behind as I looked to the future with a smile on my face.

I came to Nahar International school in grade 11 without knowing where I was heading with a lot of self-consciousness. Through the two years of my IBDP journey with Nahar I was able to truly find the things that made me content. More than confidence I found myself being sure of what I can do and hence I have begun to back myself up instead of being quiet. I have learnt to accept failures because of the “what next” attitude that Nahar promotes.

Nahar International School has been an integral part of me growing up as a result of which I am able to study at the University of my dreams which I had told the school back in 2015 when I joined. Currently I am studying design engineering at Imperial College London which is placed at number six on the “QS World University” rankings. I'm incredibly proud to be a part of Nahar International School, it’s a really helpful and supportive community and I really hope we keep coming back and talk to more future students so we can have a vast network of alumni and qualified professionals across the world and we can meet and discuss and create the future for a better world.

I have been a part of Nahar International Since 2014. I am currently studying medicine in Italy. Nahar helped me become the person I am today not just academically but as a whole. I learned a lot of important skills and a lot of things basically everything in the heart and I'm really grateful to be a part of this family.

My journey at Nahar International School was really life-changing. I got to meet some of the most amazing teachers and faculty members who supported me immensely and shaped me to the person I am today, capable of being part of the University of my choice. I was fortunate to make a bunch of awesome friends with whom I share forever lasting memories of good and bad times. Good Times filled with a turn of joy and laughter and bad times filled with great life lessons. At Nahar International school I got to learn a lot about the world and really realized just how big diverse and cool it is and also how challenging it can get sometimes. But most importantly I really got to learn a lot about myself as a person. I managed to discover my true passion in life which is psychology and I'm genuinely super grateful to all my teachers who stood by me and supported me throughout this journey of self-discovery.
